Artist's Bio
I was born on March 3rd, 1977. I survived a rare kidney tumor at the age of 3, and I've been very fortunate to enjoy a healthy, active life, and to experience all I have done. In my immediate family, I have of course my parents, and an older brother and sister. I also have 4 nephews and 1 niece. For pets, I have two dogs "Katana" & "Sai". I'm a die-hard PS3 fan!!! I have no use for television, though I do enjoy movies. I love to write, and at an incredibly slow pace (too many interests), I am working on a few books.
I am an active part of "Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue ", where I help handle and care for over 28 Tigers, Lions, and Leopards every week. These great cats have been rescued from unfit living conditions, breeders, and canned hunting programs. We work to educate the public and to pass laws for protecting them. In the summer of 07', we expanded this rescue to a secluded 27 acres of beautiful land, and provide tours and an educational center for the public. We are non-profit, and fully licensed by the USDA. Our facility provides some of the largest and best living conditions for these exotic cats in the mid-west.
You can also view some of my big cat videos on my FILM VIDEO PAGE.
I also help sponsor, donate, and promote our Big Cat Rescue, and donated an ATV Quad for daily work. I've even had the rare opportunity to help raise several Tigers from birth, and watch them grow to full maturity. Working with these Great Cats, has been a life-long dream come true, and is one of the most rewarding parts of my life.
I LOVE ADRENALINE!!! I am very active in extreme sports such as skydiving, water skiing, jet skiing, horseback riding, rock climbing, white-water rafting, mountain biking, Skiing in the Mountains, paint balling, stunt training, and motorcycle riding (I ride a Ninja 650). I need to be around water, whether it's the ocean, a lake, a waterfall, or an artifical waterfall at my academy/office. I travel as often as possible, whether to different states or countries, it's always a great experience to see other lands and cultures.
However, my main area of interest is martial arts. I have been studying since 1990. I own my own martial arts academy and continue instructing and training. I also travel to Europe each year now to train under two modern day warriors. The study of martial arts is a major part of my life, and who I am. I couldn’t imagine not training or instructng. Through it, I have developed what I define as the "Warriors' Way".
While living in New Olreans, I was very active in Film & Television. I was part of the Louisiana Stuntman’s Association; until Hurricane Katrina devastated the city I was living in, as well as destroying my home (under 8 feet of water), martial arts academy, and my film career. I have worked in over 25 films and television shows, and continue auditioning for future roles. Mostly, I have been a “Stand-In” and “Body Double” for the lead actors, as well as being featured in a few small roles, television commercials, and some independent films.
When it comes to my own personal time, it’s obvious my true passion is artwork. I’ve been drawing my whole life. I am continuously striving to set new levels of detail in my drawings. My Dragons have evolved over the years with each drawing I've created. I focus on giving them each a distinctive personality and character.
I like dealing with people's fantasies. I can take anyone and put him or her into his or her own fantasy. An artist usually expresses himself through his work, as I do with my own, but my artwork also gives those within the drawing the chance to express themselves as well. Through my drawing of them, they can see themselves living a life they've only experienced in their dreams. In some cases, I can capture a moment from their lives they live and love most, and give them the opportunity to share it with others.
I am mostly fond of using pencil in my artwork. I truly enjoy black and white images, more than color. My art mentor Caroline Janis, greatly influenced and guided me as I developed my artistic style. I do however, work with pastels and sculpting as well.
